chal|dron «CHL druhn», noun.
any one of various old British dry measures, ranging at different times and places from 32 to 72 imperial bushels, fixed by law after 1878 at 36, not now used.
[earlier chaudern < Old French chauderon. See etym. of doublet caldron. (Cf.caldron)]
